David’s directing career began in broadcast with ITV, MTV and Channel 4 where he interviewed and shot many of the biggest names in music and the arts. As a director, David has cultivated a style of beautiful, natural and spontaneous documentary filmmaking. His personal short films of artists, designers and performers, sometimes combined with his own poetry, music or performance, have been selected for numerous festivals including London and Encounters in the UK.
He has created innovative branded projects for Volkswagen and TK Maxx and award-winning digital work for Specsavers. Recently, David’s barbershop scene short film for men’s grooming brand Uppercut was a featured HotShot, whilst his Gold-awarded series of spots for Wickes neatly demonstrates his nose for a story, his skill at drawing performances from real characters and his eye for creating branded work that looks beautiful but feels authentic.
Alongside his commercial work, David is currently in post-production on his Sundance Institute-supported feature documentary, 'Yogurt Utopia' to be completed in Spring 2017.
