Annex are excited to announce the release of Paul Andrew Williams' 2nd feature film 'The Cottage' in cinemas this Thursday, March 14.
The fun comedy horror takes Williams into new territory, in contrast to his first film the gritty urban drama 'London to Brighton'. The critically acclaimed and BAFTA nominated 'London to Brighton' won numerous awards including best UK film at Raindance. William's both wrote and directed 'London To Brighton'
Interestingly Williams' actually wrote the 'The Cottage' prior to 'London To Brighton' but it was the huge critical acclaim of 'London To Brighton' that allowed William's to receive the funding he needed to make the bigger budget 'Cottage'.
'The Cottage' is a hilarious blood filled romp with fantastic comic performances. Have a read of the synopsis below and check out the trailer:
In the dead of night, a car arrives at a secluded country cottage. Bickering constantly, brothers David (Andy Serkis) and Peter (Reece Shearsmith) climb out to inspect the hideaway. The pair have set aside their differences for a quick moneymaking scheme - a kidnapping. Tracey (Jennifer Ellison), bound, gagged and unconscious, is locked in the trunk of the car. Her black sheep step-brother Andrew (Steven O' Donnell) is also in the scheme. The kidnapping however goes completely wrong with Tracey turning the tables on her captors and escaping with Peter as a hostage. David and Andrew follow them in to the woods but they soon discover something far more terrifying is lurking in the darkness. The stage is set for a grotesquely comic battle for survival when our characters encounter a maniacal a Farmer. Who will survive and what will be left of them?
