PAUL ANDREW WILLIAMS
Paul Andrew Williams has just completed his first commercial, out of JWT for The National Centre for Domestic Violence.
The spot is hard hitting yet never relies on over-played drama or violent cliques. Its very natural look and performance lulls you into a sense of "familiar" domestic idyll that serves to intensify the events that follow.
“We wanted to make people aware of the huge number of women who have to endure assaults but disguise the truth of how they get the bruises, forced to hide behind excuses of domestic accidents or clumsiness.”
”Making a commercial without a budget was a big challenge, but JWT worked with Annex Films, Prime Focus and Angell Sound to produce a great film at minimal cost.”
“We first became aware of Paul Andrew Williams after seeing his feature, London to Brighton, and felt it had a raw, menacingly real quality that Paul could bring to what would be his first commercial.”
Simon Bullett @ JWT
Paul's debut feature film LONDON TO BRIGHTON released last year, was described as "audacious”, “exciting film making”, “a dazzling debut" and given
5 stars by the Guardian. The film was awared the Hitchcock Prize at Dinard, best debut at the Edinburgh Film Festival and received a BAFTA nomination.
Paul’s next film ‘The Cottage’, a dark comedy-horror, is due to be released in March 2008.
